Professional learning for educators

Learning together, teaching with confidence

Practical ideas for a professional learning plan that grows with your teaching team.

Students learning together in a community language school

Start with a shared question

Choose one classroom question your team would like to explore. For example: how can we help students use more of the language during group activities?

Agree on a small change to try, a time to discuss what happened, and a simple way to notice progress. Professional learning can happen through a workshop, a shared lesson plan, peer observation or a conversation about student work.

Build your learning plan

Identify a priority

Listen to teachers and learners, review a few examples of classroom work, and choose one focus you can explore this term.

Try and share

Plan an activity together, try it in class and share what you noticed. Make room for new teachers and experienced colleagues to contribute.

Reflect and continue

Record the ideas that helped students participate. Decide what to keep, adapt or explore in the next learning cycle.
